Professional Summary

I am an international student from Dubai going to Johnson & Whales University to study culinary arts. I have lived in several different countries growing up, going from school to school, even though I am 17, I believe that has allowed me to acquire skills in communications, in learning to adapt in new environments, and understanding different cultures. It has given me a better understanding of the world and how it works. I have traveled to the USA independently to get my Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, this is why I bring responsibility to the table, regardless of my age. I like to describe myself as 'jack of all trades', as I have various hobbies. I love learning new things and branching out; I always continue push myself out of my comfort zone and grow; and make meaningful connections with people along the way.

Highlights

• Arabic: Negotiated: I participated in a summer camp sponsored by Nikon and Reel cinemas and hosted by Murdoch University in Dubai. We were separated into teams of three or four; we had to compete in creating a short movie and the winners would be awarded. I was the director, leader, co-editor, scriptwriter, videographer, and actor in my film. As the script maker, I decided to base my short film, named 'Into Nowhere', on the journey of a captain and copilot in an airplane with many passengers on board, things start to escalate and go south in the climax of my story. My grandpa helped me with the technical terms as he himself was a captain! I wrote it, reread it then reread it again. As the director, I directed my teammates (who I am still in touch with to this day) telling them what I wanted them to do and how I wanted them to do it, I showed them my vision for the film and together we brought it to life. We all participated in the film and were acting in it, which can be difficult especially if you are the videographer at the same time but we understood our budget and resources and overcame our problems as a team. We managed to film our short movie in a place called 'Kidzania'; Kidzania has a realistic-looking plane and cockpit (along with other things) which most of our film was filmed in. Then came the editing part of our summer camp, which took place in the university itself, they have provided us with computers and proficient editing software and trained us on how to use it. My teammate and I worked alongside each other editing our short film from choosing the music, making the subtitles, and editing the actual clips. I even came on a weekend to continue to edit it the next day to get a lot of the work done. Afterward, our short movies were shown for one night at the cinema at reel cinema, it was a private event in Dubai Mall, and very proud family members were invited and of course, their children who participated in the summer camp. That night, My film was awarded best screenplay, I received a certificate, trophy, apple tv, headphones, and Nikon branded water bottle. As one of the winners of that night's event, we were hosted and interviewed on the local television. It was one of the best days of my life, I made life-long connections, gained editing, communication, team leadership, and team-building skills.

• Contributed to Culture day at school (an annual event that my school hosts that get featured on television); the school and students work together to create and decorate stands for each country, bring a few special dishes for each country's stand, and learn the choreography to the each country's native dance and perform in front of the school and parents. I brought food for the Syrian stand along with a few other students, learned and performed the choreography for the USA dance which featured a cowboy-themed dance and song, and donated money and bought a shirt from the school to help fund the money for Cultural · day.
