• During my gap year after high school, I worked for my uncle's marketing research firm, Frontier Consulting, as part of the market research team. I worked on two group group projects hired by L'Oreal and Always. · The work entitled carrying out field research for the products that were to be introduced into the market. The market research included finding the appropriate respondents to hand out the said product to. Following back on the respondents to review their thoughts on the product, and returning the research to the company. Generated real-time data collection through open-forum discussions, surveys and questionnaires created for target audience. · INTERNSHIP STUDENT · Dir Group | Riverside, CA · 07/2019 to 08/2019 · While I was working at EFG Hermes, I was shown how trading in the stock market happens; from the buying and selling of shares, to meeting with clients and the demanding attention that traders need at their desks. Other than trading, I also got the opportunity to work with the research team and even got to help around with research work, which was used in client meetings. · Working at this company gave me a key insight into the real world of working. It also taught me the importance of managing your time well and prioritizing. · Moreover, working with adults and having to approach them helped build my confidence to speaking up and asking for help where needed. Compiled, modeled and reported on data for staff members as directed. · Sat in on meetings · INTERIOR DESIGN INTERN · Dewberry | Sacramento, CA · 12/2018 to 12/2018 · At Design 40 I was shown how interior designers use certain programs on their laptops, to design an interior space virtually first. Client meetings were held and I was told the importance of this regular meetings. Moreover, I learnt how the interior design industry is now becoming more familiarized, together with all the challenges that interior firms have experienced due to its unpopularity. In addition, another key aspect that I took away from this experience, is that advertising is mainly done through word of mouth rather than having billboards. This highlighted the importance of doing a splendid job when given a task as it could determine how others promote you and portray you as person or company. · Working in the interior design industry for a couple of weekends helped me understand different ways that I can use my skill in art, the importance of doing whatever you do to thr best of your capability, and the growing importance of software skills. It was an enlightening experience. · ARCHITECTURE INTERN · Eco Build Africa | City, STATE · 07/2018 to 07/2018 · I got to intern in an architectural firm. This gave me insight on the importance of math and precision, together with art in order to design a building that is pleasing to clients. I was shown the different programs used to aid in this process and also how the blue print is useful. · In addition, I was taken to some sites that they were working on and shown how they ensure that all that is in the blue print plan is followed by key communication with constructer's. · The step by step progress helped me learn and understand key factors like detail and attention when doing your work, to ensure that it is done to the best of one's ability, and also the importance of communication in everything that we do.
• High School Diploma
• I graduated from Rusinga high school in 2019 with a mean grade of 78% in the subjects: Math79%, English 82%, Physics 77%, Swahili 73%, Biology 82%, History 74%, Business 75%, Art merit. During my time in high school I was a member of the football, rounders, and netball team. I also did competitive swimming and represented my school and county. I also took part in the school's Annual Business day in year 10, where I had a partnership with my friends and we returned profit at the end of the day. I also joined the Presidential Awards scheme from Bronze to Silver level. Unfortunately because of the pandemic i was unable to complete the Gold level.
• For my A levels, I joined in the September term of 2019 and graduated in June 2021.1 graduated with an A* in Economics, D* in Btec Art and C in Mathematics. I was one of the devotion leaders for my year group in year 12, continued swimming for the first year of A-Levels and participated in various school activites like a Kawangware Market clean up, which is a voluntary community service, a Rotary Biking challenge and others.
