- Sole proprietor of CyberClaire Design Workshop. Claire celebrates a twenty-year career in higher education, launching a private practice in Pittsburgh, PA focused in community-engaged environmental education, landscape design and public art.
- CyberClaire Design Workshop had completed three significant community-built works in its first three years. First, co-created with fifty neighborhood children from Highland Park, an 8' dia "Cool Globe" for 20th Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet Cool Globe Exhibit on in Market Square, PPG Place and Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh. The exhibit was made possible in part by the City of Pittsburgh Mayor's Office, Heinz Endowments, PNC Bank and the Pittsburgh Penguin Foundation.
- Second, CyberClaire Deisgn Workshop collaborated with the local neighborhood school to create playground murals and play-spaces for Fulton Elementary School. This project, funded by a Kaboom Grant, transformed the asphalt and chain-link play area into a dynamically colorful, life-filled and inspirational play space.
- As a Founding Member of the Creative For Climate Change (C4) Artist Collective, American Craft Magazine reviewed a recent exhibit at The Society for Contemporary Craft's Exhibition Space in BNY Mellon Building in SteelCity Plaza. On display were up-cycled material and ceramic "Bee Hotels" and "Fairy-Houses" handmade with local kids as part of CyberClaire Design Workshop's unique EcoArt curriculum.

- I developed and taught courses in the core curriculum in the Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design Program, which includes Bachelors and Master's Degrees in Landscape Architecture and a PhD Program in Human and Community Development.
- In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I was Creative Director for the West Virginia Community Design Team that brought diverse students and faculty from across the university to communities in West Virginia. The CDT provided visioning, planning, design services and economic redevelopment strategies to over thirty-five communities in West Virginia, providing service learning, public art and community-built landscape spaces enriching the community-life and providing professional services to under-represented voices in the state.
- A capstone project included a four-year design process to complete the Nath Sculpture Park at the West Virginia University Art Museum. The innovative abstract expressionistic landscape design included native plantings, green infrastructure, and hand-fabricated, laser-cut corten steel "lanterns." This space is a celebrated destination for wedding, university functions and alumni events.

Iowa State University
- I was honored to teach in the revolutionary "out-of-the-classroom" environmental education program known as The Savanna Studio. Teaching in the formative years of its offering, I helped write the curricula for this sophomore-year immersive for the Landscape Architecture Professional Degree Programs. This semester-long studio takes the entire sophomore and first-year graduate classes on a 3,000 mi journey across transects of the Midwestern Prairie Region of the United States. Camping in remote areas and exploring hostels in urban environments, this study combines sixteen credit hours of course-work ranging from native plant and ecosystems identification to cultural landscape history and drawing, painting and design fundamentals.
- I developed collaborative creative design research projects with respected Native American Architect and Professor of Architecture, Lynn Paxton. The Environmental Design Research Association and Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture published design outreach works by Paxton and Claire for indigenous communities of The United Houma Nation of Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, The Norther Ponca, The Nakota and Dakota Sioux Tribes and the Coeur d'Alene d'Alene of Idaho.
Adjunct Professor of Architecture / University of Detroit Mercy - City, STATE05/1998 - 07/2000
- As a Recent Graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art, I lived and worked on an urban farm on The "Near East Side" of Detroit known by the street it was located on, Farnsworth Farm. Started by local activist teachers, Paul Weertz and Barbra Reenie, this artist-farming collective has been the epicenter of the urban farming movement in Detroit, inspiring documentaries, books. My student's work was curated in The Artist Take on Detroit at The Detroit Institute of Arts.
- I was heavily influenced by American Revolutionary (PBS Special) Grace Lee Boggs, civil-rights and union organizer turned outspoken food justice leader. I was also able to work as a quasi-Visa Volunteer at The Catherine Ferguson Academy's, a Detroit public high school for pregnant and parenting girls on the permaculture farm located on the school grounds.
- I also created one of the first urban edible community park and garden on East Grand Ave. on the site of the former Easter High School. This site is still in operation after twenty-years and is now registered as its own 501c3 and Community Development Corporation under the name GenesisHOPE.
