Jessica Claire My background over the past 20 years has been with local government in the surveying and engineering field, which has given me a great perspective on how engineering, surveying, and construction projects are developed, designed, funded and completed in this unique environment. My experience with The City of Morganton has allowed me to assist and work on planning, surveying and designing many city projects, such as North Green Street Greenway connector, Catawba River Soccer Complex fields 3 thru 6, Catawba Meadows Baseball Complex Picnic and Festival area, Mountain View Recreation Center Improvements, Martin Luther King Park Improvements, City Fire Station Parking Upgrades, Public Safety Firing Range Upgrades, and numerous sidewalk, water & sewer line relocations, and upgrades. Prior to my current employment with The City of Morganton I worked in the Engineering Department at The City of Hickory. While at The City of Hickory, I assisted engineers and surveyors in both city and private sector with planning and design of recreation facilities, sidewalk and multiple water & sewer line projects. Projects include Glen Hilton Park Restroom Facilities, 5th Street Northeast sidewalk extension, Southside Cemetery Topographic survey, McCombs Park site survey, and City Hall site survey. Prior to my local government experience, I worked in the private sector of surveying, where I worked as a survey crew leader. As a survey crew leader, my responsibilities were operation of a survey crew and integrity of work performed. I assisted the head surveyor with deed research and preparation of finished maps for survey projects.
